Surroundings

Velem lies only 8 km from Kőszeg, in the Alpokalja.

It was a popular tourist destination even in the past century. Many arrived here to enjoy its clean air, since it has a positive effect on respiratory disease such as asthma.

In the vicinity of the guest house there is the St Vid Chapel in the place of a 13th century fortress. Other attraction of Velem is the Chestnut Festival. This is a popular two-day long festival with cultural programs and handcraft fair.
