Novákfalva is situated at the most western corner of the country, at Alpokalja, in Velem. The main feature of this place it that the wooden parts and the furniture of its houses are decorated with Hungarian and Transylvanian hand-carved and painted patterns. These fairy tale-like houses capture the hearts of visitors.
The small village lies on a large territory. It has 55 apartments and capable of hosting 180 guests at a time. Among the fabulous small buildings there is a conference hall and a restaurant. Visitors can ride a horse or try archery here. The adventure village pays attention to the youngest guests too: playground, zoo, and child programs provide an opportunity for the little ones to be entertained. Magnum, the lama, Mázli the pony and Rudy, the dame deer cannot wait to be hugged by little kids.
The place is an excellent choice even for those who are looking for an active holiday, since it is a good starting point of uphill tours to the Chapel of Saint Vid, or Írottkő Lookout tower. The National Blue Tourist Line goes at the border of the village. It is worth mentioning that the only downhill bike road of Hungary, with an easy upward road is situated in Velem. This is very practical, since the vehicles do not need to be transported to the hilltop. An extreme adventure park, a paintball field and kayak lane also help the guests to escape from the helter-skelter of the modern life.
The place is unmissable for the lovers of history, as the paths, museums and monuments of the parks lead through the 1000 years of Hungarian history.
The wine cellars provide the opportunity of spending a nice evening with tasting wine and discover the products of the local wine makers. The adventure village provides programs for the fans of contemporary arts as well. In its museum a show of young artist can be enjoyed, which is renewing every year. If the guests get tired from the experience, they can enjoy a nice dinner made in the traditional furnaces, situated in Transylvanian style garden.
Novákfalva is literally a fabulous wonder, where everyone can find an ideal place for relaxation.
